mRSTA App

These days the news feed on Facebook are all about the people blaming  RSTA for not being able to avail the renewal of their vehicle documents. With RSTA limiting the number of people to 100 before lunch and 50 after lunch, most drivers are frustrated over the poor service delivery from RSTA. But an alternative to this has fairly been addressed by RSTA with the development of an App called mRSTA.

I personally feel it's a good initiative. Specifically when the whole world is transitioning to the digitised world, it's very timely. I have installed and even used once to show to the traffic police when I was asked to show my lisence on their regular high way check. It's a convenient App. We can apply for the renewal of the registration certificate. It also shows the history of fines and offences  your lisence and the registered car on your name has taken place since it's been on the road beside your copy of lisence with authorized drive types.

If you aren't aware of it yet, it's available both for the Android and the iOS. The obvious advantage of this app is when you forget your lisence in purse/wallet at home. Since when do you forget your Mobile phone right?

Inspiring Blog award

First of all I would like to thank Langa Tenzin, Ugyen Tenzin and Jigme Zangpo and Sherab Pelmo for nominating me, it is such an inspiration for me. I am really sorry for the late response though. I will directly go to the seven facts about me.
  1. I am originally from lauri, under Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag which is one of the most remote place in the country. And I am the first to do engineering from my village. As a kid, I wanted to become teacher but after twelfth standard it got change after securing scholarship. I opted engineering and surprisingly ended up working in aviation company (Drukair Corporation Ltd) where I have to start right from the beginning. The fact is in Bhutan it is very rare where an individual chases and chooses the profession out of sole interest’ it very much depends upon the availability of opportunities!
  2. I am most of the time silent but I talk too fast seriously, all my colleagues and friends advise me to talk slowly. I am bit introvert kind of person and I hardly start conversation with strangers and that is why friends have often said that I am too serious; it is just that I need more time get familiar with.
  3.  I started reading only after twelfth standard and was inspired by a teacher who always talked about language rather than his subject-science; but sadly I haven’t been able to keep aglow. I maintain diary as well and the funny thing is that if you read, you will see the most repeated word I use is ‘any way’. I noticed while I was once checking how I wrote in the previous years to save my boredom. Perhaps this is because the word consoles me somehow, don’t ask me how?
  4. I am too bad with kids. I mean I can never be friend and play around with little kids, and for the record, there is a nine months old child of my friend, who seem to have known me by the face; maybe I look so terrible that whenever I lend my hand or try to play with him, he just starts crying terribly.
  5. I also like watching English television series and my all-time favorite is “The Lost” and “The Friends” which I would watch again and again during college days. Now also I try to find time for these but life changes you know with time and with it your habits as well.
  6. I don’t drink much but whenever I am drunk, which is so very rare, I tend to become talkative and courageous revealing all the secrets. Onetime I was too drunk (during college days) that the next day was an embarrassing one for me to hear from friends about how acted and even confessed a girl of my crush! Since then I have never been drunk, and I wish never to be henceforth.
  7. People say forget and forgive but unfortunately for me it is bit difficult. I don’t get hurt too easily but once I get, it becomes very hard to forget as well. This is where I try hard to change; I hope i can change with age.
well, about the nomination I don't think even one is left without being nominated for I think I am late, yet as a norm, i would like to derive inspirations from following who are not so frequent in the world of blogging and this is just to say that i enjoy every bit of your writings, please continue writing.
Happy blogging folks.......

The Electrification Work

Courtesy: Namgang Chejey
So the date line is extended yet again? Last time it was 17th December coinciding with the national day which was extended to March month. Now it is extended to sometime in the month of May. The rural electrification of Serthi and Lauri geog, my humble place is delayed again, thus extending the lives of the community in the hellish darkness for another couple of months. How much people over there will wait? What is going wrong any way?

Already the people have suffered much and I am certain that now even the eagerness, the joy they had once about embracing and welcoming the new world, the joy that their place would now be lighted even during the day must be vanishing. The ease of their life about not having to use the black oven, about not having to collect firewood in stock for all seasons must be getting simmered with such sad news. Perhaps they are now really fed up and frustrated with the false promises.

Yes there are so many problems especially in the part of areas like ours. We have the place where the transmission lines have to cross through the places inhabited by giant elephants. We have to cross the Indian border areas of Assam to get to our place, yet I often doubt and I am skeptic if these are the only problems that are really hampering the work causing the delay of dateline. BPC is an autonomous organization and I do believe with my all heart that they would never incur such heavy losses by delaying such progressive work. At the same time I also believe that there are solutions to any kind of problems. It is in such situations where the interventions the government, by the concerned people and organization is most needed, in turn the cooperation from the community.

As a Zhungka songo as I once wrote about, most of the children who lives in Thimphu or Phuntsholing and other places far from the community we belong think we have little to do with whatever is happening there. We seem to be least bothered and we care less. Everybody talk about bringing their parents to stay with them once they are settled. Who have even thought about tough yet peaceful and quite life we have there? Who would have thought about losing and throwing the good tradition and culture we have? Would we not lose the existence that is so harmonically passed down for generations?

Sometimes this also makes us ponder if what some people said during our honorable member of parliament, Mr. Pelzang’s visit holds true? ‘Soenam mawa meser’ was what the people of our community expressed.  Irrespective of the labor work they contribute, the helping hand they lend in all their capacity and the cooperation in all form they give, be it the farm road construction that is going on in progress, I think our community, our people over there aren’t fortunate enough to embrace such facilities,  the wonder and elites of so-called development. May be we are still surrounded by the seal of the ill fate, perhaps we are still cursed to be in the darkness and that it isn’t the time yet for us and our community. Maybe we are mean to be that way for some more time.

Anyway let us hope that all these hurdles are passed through and that the dreams and aspirations of people be all fulfilled one fine day. But for now patience is all that is needed.
